Newton Local History

From the middle of the 18th century until the 1930s local directories provided information on the nobility, gentry, trade, public buildings and services. Copies of trade directories can be found in local libraries and the County Archives, Beverley.
Trade Directories can be compared to the census details to create another layer of parish knowledge. There are lists of landowners and professions, also details of postal collections and deliveries.
This is a copy of Bulmer's Directory 1892.
Below is the list of Newton residents, 1892, transcribed on Genuki, another good source for the local & family historian.
